Shortly before recording this podcast, Justin was informed of a 192% price increase from his insurance company for his group policy.  One nearly viral Facebook post and many swear words later, Justin decides to voice his frustrations on our latest episode.

This podcast contains more adult language than normal.

Enjoy, folks!

From Cory Glenn, himself: "It has been said that if you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.  I can honestly say that I have found this to be true of dentistry.   As a dentist in Winchester TN, I feel blessed to be able to combine my love of science and artistic expression into a career that can change people’s lives by restoring their smiles.

I was born in Jonesboro, AR where I lived until completing my undergraduate studies in biology and chemistry at Arkansas State University.  I then attended dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.  Following graduation in 2008, I went on to do an additional Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with a focus on comprehensive care and dental implants.  My love of dentistry and desire to excel in it has led me to become a continual student, taking far above the state required 20 hours of education per year (in 2012, I took over 380 hours).

I enjoy collaborating with other dentists on various dental topics and I lecture frequently across the world on the topics of CAD/CAM, conebeam technology and guided dental implants, dental photography, digital smile design, complete dentures, and complex full mouth rehabilitation.

I also hold active memberships in the following organizations:

  • Middle TN Dental Study Club – past Chairman and past Continuing Education Director
  • American Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • American Academy of Implant Dentistry- Associate Fellow
  • American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
  • Southern TN Christian Medical and Dental Association- current Vice president
  • Franklin County One Day Community Outreach Steering Committee
  • Rotary International
  • Gideons International
  • Franklin County Chamber of Commerce

As much as I love dentistry, the role I’m most proud of is being husband to my beautiful wife Amanda and being Daddy to our 3 precious daughters, Allie, Audrey, and Leah.  Amanda is a dental hygienist and maintains an active role in the management of the practice.

On Dec. 26th of 2015, I got  news that forever changed me.  I was diagnosed with Leukemia.  There's  nothing like thinking you're going to die to make you really understand what's important in life.  For me, that was my faith and my family.  I spent the next 8 months doing chemotherapy fighting cancer.  Thankfully, my treatment was successful and I'm now in complete remission but the experience has given me a renewed and much deeper perspective on life.

We are members of Winchester First Baptist Church where I enjoy playing guitar and singing in the praise and worship band.  Outside of family and dentistry, I love to spend time outdoors cycling, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and doing photography.

Part Two continues with David Harris explaining more about the process of prosecuting an embezzler.

Oct 7, 2016

It's a fact: two-thirds of dentists will be embezzlement during their career. Over 6,000 dentists will be embezzled, resulting in over $180 million in losses.  That's pretty scary, right?  Think it can't happen to you?  Think again.  We take a break from our normal shenanigans (and lack of content) to talk about something serious.

David Harris is Prosperident’s Chief Executive Officer.

Overcoming a troubled adolescence, David Harris has become the world’s leading expert on dental office embezzlement. He is the CEO of Prosperident, the world’s largest dental embezzlement investigation firm.

Prosperident’s team of specialized investigators is consulted on hundreds of frauds annually committed against both general dentists and dental specialists. David has had the distinct pleasure of hearing cell doors slam shut on many embezzlers.

David is a CPA and a licensed private investigator.  He has a graduate degree in applied mathematics and is “dual certified” in fraud investigation – he possesses both the Certified Fraud Examiner designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Certified in Financial Forensics designation from the American Association of Certified Public Accountants.

David is a Mensa member and belongs to several organizations for dental consultants and speakers.

David has been interviewed on the subject of embezzlement by many leading dental publications and organizations. He is also a prolific writer and authors or co-authors a dozen or more articles annually that appear in major dental publications. David has lectured at several US and Canadian universities in the faculties of business, law and dentistry.

David is a highly entertaining and engaging speaker who draws on a vast amount of experience in his field.  He says that his favorite moment is hearing the noise that a prison cell door makes when it clicks shut on an embezzler.

Want more information about the growing issue of embezzelment in the dental industry?  Definitely e-mail David at david@dentalembezzlement.com and visit his website at www.dentalembezzlement.com before your suspicions turn into reality.

Stay tuned for part two coming up on Tuesday!
